Another World. A rapist Sun. Two sister Moons- One betrothed, other the goddess of assassins and secret lovers. "Once upon a time, an angel and a devil fell in love. It did not end well" There once lay a dying seraph in a battlefield who was chanced upon by a chimaera.No. She had winched a tourniquet above his wound. That was the pain. He looked wonderingly up at her.She said, “I recommend living.”“I’ll try.”Two enemies warring from the dawn of time.Yet she saved him.Akiva and Madrigal fell in love. Claimed that love is an element.Like air to breathe, earth to stand on. And hoped."Maybe there’s no actual magic in it, but when you know what you hope for most and hold itlike a light within you, you can make things happen, almost like magic.”They were the beginning. And so they lived on hope, love, honey sweets and sin berries in the Ellai's- the phantom moon's temple.Until they were discovered. And sweet, sweet Madrigal was beheaded for consorting with the enemy and betraying her race while a helpless Akiva was made to watch. In the mystical city of Prague lives a girl Karou- with lapis tresses and swan-like eyes.Raised by a family of chimaera, she is the Wishmonger's errand runner, kickass fighter, the linguistic queen, a deft artist and waiting for someone who would make her butterflies dance.(Forget about the peeving ex-boyf (scandalous rodent-loaf!) who can't seem to take a hint that he is no longer needed). Little does she knows that she is Madrigal reborn. And Akiva is a war machine- tortured, haunted and hollow fueled by vengeance and agony- like a fiery hurricane obliterating all the chimaera in his path. And then he chances upon Karou and it's their beginning all over again. I cant even begin to comprehend how much i love this book. A gossamer spun out of pure magic silk, makes my heart thumpa-thumpa-thump.And sure, what's not to love about DoSaB? A level headed female protagonist who knows how to kick ass, a hot as hell angel (no pun intended)- battered and broken reliving the ghosts of past (would rave about him later), and who doesn't loves fairy stories. Not to mention the hilarity factor.“I don't know many rules to live by,' he'd said. 'But here's one. It's simple. Don't put anything unnecessary into yourself. No poisons or chemicals, no fumes or smoke or alcohol, no sharp objects, no inessential needles--drug or tattoo--and...no inessential penises either.' 'Inessential penises?' Karou had repeated, delighted with the phrase in spite of her grief. 'Is there any such thing as an essential one?' 'When an essential one comes along, you'll know,' he'd replied.” *falls off the chair laughing*For once, someone has broken the stereotype and has refused to show the world in black and white.Sure, from the day we have opened our eyes, this fact has been shoved down our throats that angels are good and devils are bad. But Ms Taylor has dared to flip it and show the world in gray. And please don't get me started on Akiva “Oh, Hell. Must. Mate. Immediately.” Who knew seraphs could be so badass?Talk about Treble Wowey Fudge with a sprinkling of Hawtness. Mmmm-hmmm. Yum yum my tum. Akiva can melt me like a Popsicle in the sun withing frexing seconds.I swear i was in a lingual coma for a week after i completed this one. It's so so magical. Glorious.humbling....Downright beautiful.I can't stop gushing.ps Off to read Lips Touch, can't believe that i waited this long for this, foolish me.
